Biography: Orhan Donmez is an Associate Professor of Physics at American University of the Middle East, Kuwait. He received his PhD in Astrophysics from Drexel University, USA. His main research focus is about the general procedure to solve the General Relativistic Hydrodynamic (GRH) equations with Adaptive-Mesh Refinement (AMR) and model of an accretion disk dynamics around the non-rotating and the rotating black holes in the presence of General and Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravities. In addition to the main research focus, he is also solving the nonlinear partial differential equations to extract the properties of the solitary waves observed in the laboratory and astrophysical plasmas. This wave is a wave which propagates without any temporal evolution in shape or size when viewed in the reference frame moving with the group velocity of the wave. Currently, he is also working on one of the mysteries of our universe called dark matter particles. Unlike normal matter, dark matter does not interact with the electromagnetic force.
